Costa Farms boobie cacti from Walmart cropping up on Facebook marketplace
Thoughts on this? I’ve been seeing these pop up recently just since the Walmarts in my area restocked on costa cacti, particularly the boobie cacti. Seems like some people are just buying them up and trying to resell on marketplace for a huge markup. I’m tempted to comment on the posts telling people to check their local Walmarts first. It really rubs me the wrong way for some reason, people just trying to make a quick buck and take advantage by buying up the local supply just to resell (don’t even take them out of the gray costa plastic pots). Idk, I don’t like it but maybe there’s some defense for it I’m not thinking of? I’ll keep an open mind, but feels greedy on the surface. I’d love to hear thoughts on this.
I don’t have a problem with hobby sellers buying cacti from big box stores in order to resell if they’re doing nice repotting and staging and adding value to it in that way, but to just buy up to resell as is at 3-4 times the Walmart price? Hmm.
