Hey! I’m looking for a programmer to help build a narrative sci-fi action prototype.
EDIT / UPDATE: I’m currently looking for a 3D artist / UI artist for the prototype. A programmer is already in early discussion, so the main focus now is visual direction and assets.
Core Concept
You play as a college student using an alien combat suit that only he can perceive and see.
During everyday life—classes, conversations, friendships—he is occasionally interrupted by combat encounters against invisible entities called “Omnisters.”
Combat happens on top of normal life, not in a separate world.
Reality continues as normal while something else may or may not be happening at the same time.
Gameplay Loop
The game follows a simple daily structure:
Day Phase (Life Simulation)
After waking up, the player has 3 total actions per day:
-
Study: increases Mental stat
-
Social interactions: affects Social stat
-
Suit customization / AI interaction: affects Combat + lore
After a few actions, story events and college progression occur.
Encounter Phase (Combat Overlay)
Combat triggers during normal life (random or scripted):
-
Environment distorts, audio muffles
-
Suit activates automatically (battle begins)
-
Isometric real-time combat begins
After combat:
-
distortion fades
-
normal life resumes seamlessly
Night Phase
-
recovery / customization
-
narrative events
-
stat progression continues
Core Stats
-
Mental = clarity, perception stability, decision quality
-
Social = relationships and dialogue outcomes
-
Combat = suit effectiveness and combat performance
These affect:
-
dialogue options
-
combat behavior
-
story progression events
Combat System (Prototype Scope)
-
Isometric action combat
-
Melee (manual, high risk/high reward)
-
Ranged (lock-on based)
-
Dash-based movement
-
Enemies with intent states (attack / prepare / unknown)
Failure state:
-
HP reaches 0 → encounter ends early
-
Player wakes up / continues day with reduced Mental
Core Theme
A protective system designed to keep the protagonist safe slowly begins shaping how he perceives reality.
The game explores:
-
functioning normal life under stress
-
hypervigilance and routine disruption
-
emotional detachment vs survival logic
-
blurred boundary between real and perceived threats
Looking For:
3D artist (priority) – characters, environments, assets
UI/HUD artist (important for prototype readability)
Animation / VFX (optional)
Unity/Godot devs still welcome for collaboration
The goal is a stylized sci-fi world with strong contrast between normal college life and sudden combat overlays.
PORTFOLIO: This is my first project and I do not have a portfolio of any kind.
However, I have experience with structured academic work, including a published undergraduate review paper in a college science journal, completed under professor supervision and revised based on reviewer feedback. Link available if needed.
If this sounds interesting, feel free to reach out, thank you for reading!
