Born Again: Major pacing issues in Episode 1
Episode 1 was way too early for Foggy's exit
Foggy. A very important leading character in the series got an exit fit for an extra. Im not saying the reboot is bad... It's actually great, like beautiful but with each beautiful and great episode I feel Foggy's absence, that's how much relevant he was to the series.
It's like rebooting the Powerpuff Girls without blossom. It's like rebooting Gossip Girl without Blair Waldorf, Supernatural without Sam or Teenwolf without Styles.
Nevertheless, they made the decision but the execution was wrong. Foggy's exit wouldve hit harder if it was a season of it's own. If the first season of Daredevil Born Again was all a journey leading to Foggy's inevitable exit, this decision would've hit harder than anything before. Then the first season would've been season 2 and so on and they we would've been more connected with Matt's anger, Karen's anger and Vanessa's angle as well. We off all things would've been so attuned with Matt's interactions with Dex this season. This season would've been the perfect closure surrounding Foggy's death.
Matt was literally about to break his lifetime law of no- killing, this by itself is tremendous. To have this all happen in an episode, a first one at that is more of an executive mistake in my opinion.
Foggy deserved better than a premier episode shock death. The characters deserved better... Hell, we the viewers deserved better.
