I’ve heard the advice so much that you shouldn’t describe a character just on hair and eye color, but I struggle so much with coming up with other descriptions for them without feeling gratuitous. When I picture characters in my head, they are faceless. The only discernible features they have are hair and eyes and body type, but actual facial features are blurred. I try to make them meaningful but feel like I fall short

I want to learn more about the systemic roots of gang violence in America and have read quite a few memoirs but want something that can help me understand the roots of gangs
