venue confused - destination / mountain wedding help?
Hi all!
First off, I am genuinely so confused about where to get married that I am not even excited to get married anymore (I love my fiance, but we could...just...elope?!). Nothing quite feels right which makes the process feel unexciting, which makes the money spent toward it feel wasteful. Hoping you could help.
The TLDR; we'd love a unique wedding with gorgeous mountain / outdoor vibes, but also black tie. Most of our guests will be coming from the East Coast and never really go to destination weddings, so ease of travel would be ideal. It would also be ideal if it was hosted where there's an option for luxe accommodations (to justify black tie) and a ballroom, not tent (would rather spend $$ on florals). Budget in the $300K-ish ballpark. Places we like (with their cons):
- Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch: basically perfect, but 2 hr drive from Denver airport or requires a connecting flight, also altitude sickness for some guests. Is this a deal-breaker?
- Lodge at Blue Sky: stunning, but barn feels a bit too rustic. Also 30 mins from Park City proper. Don't know how food is?
- Edgewood Tahoe: gorgeous lake views, but almost feels too commercial? Was also hoping for more mountains/greenery than water.
If you have ANY advice on venues, guest transportation, or even the excitement around wedding planning, it would be greatly appreciated!!!
xoxo, confused bride-to-be
