My wife and I wanted to create a display for our yard and found this at a metal scrap yard in Detroit.
Appox 6 feet long x 2 feet wide and has about a 6 foot radius formed on the short side. It is 1 inch thick and weighs about 125 lbs.
The yard thinks it might have come from the old Packard auto plant but had no idea of its original purpose. I saw a similar shaped Hex pattern used for road paving but not as heavy duty. My only thought was that 6-7 of these could have been bolted ( there are 4 half circles if you zoom in) to a round plant column as a reinforcement but that seems like overkill.
Any one have an idea of what this was?
