Is Invisalign worth it if my only issue is mild lower crowding (and I don’t want extractions)?
I had braces about 13 years ago, and overall my teeth stayed pretty stable. My top teeth are still aligned well, but my lower front teeth have some crowding. It’s the relapsing of one of top teeth that’s bothering me aesthetically.
I recently went for an Invisalign consult, and the orthodontist recommended a comprehensive plan plus possible extraction to create space. The thing is:
- I don’t have any bite issues
- No pain or functional problems
- My concern is mostly cosmetic
- I really don’t want extractions unless absolutely necessary
- Invisalign is also a big financial commitment for me
So now I’m wondering whether:
- It’s even worth doing Invisalign for just lower crowding
- I should avoid treatment altogether since this has been stable for years
For people who had mild lower crowding:
- Was Invisalign worth the cost?
- Did you regret doing it (or not doing it)?
- Were you able to avoid extractions?
- Did a lite/express plan work for you?
Photos are the current situation and simulated if I go for Invisalign
Would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who had braces years ago and only experienced lower crowding relapse afterward.
