We graduated up a step on this sub!
Ranch home with basement, KC metro, around 1,000 sq. ft. but with an unfinished basement that’s roughly the same size. It was still off market when our realtor got to tour early (seller used her office). We were coming down off of losing a similar house to an offer $5k over ours, but when she sent us the videos of this place, we put it all out there!
It was going to go to market at $300k, we initially offered $315k, but then bumped it to $320k to secure everything. Closing costs ended up around $23k (down payment of $16k).
Gonna be real, we would not have started the process without an early inheritance from my wife’s grandma, AND the mortgage takes up a higher percentage of my income than some of you would be comfortable with, but we’ll grow into that. PITI is $2300/mo.
We love it and I’ve already tackled the first project of redoing the coat closet. I’ll answer any questions!
