Burning Rubber smell then AC died immediately.
Hello, I need some help with my 2016 Honda CRV SE. Yesterday I was waiting for some food at a drive through and was idling in my vehicle. Heat outside was around 90F so of course AC was on and running. All of a sudden I smelled a rubber-like burning smell. As soon as I smelled that, my RPMs dropped from like 1000 to like 750 and the AC stopped blowing cold. Fan works still but no more cold AC. The next day (today) I got into my vehicle to head to work, and I could still smell that burning smell. Just wondering if anyone has had issues with this on the CRV. I have been reading that it’s most likely the compressor and that sometimes it can damage other parts, but I didn’t hear any grinding or loud noises before it stopped working. Any advice? thank you in advance 🙏🏼
