Cost of Repair: expensive or normal (front and rear disc/drum)
Kia dealership has quoted (e-niro '21, 40k miles):
- O/s/f breaks are binding heavily. £910 for new front pads and discs, and possible new calliper osf (but need to investigate after).
- o/s/r brake disc is warped, causing brakes to bind. £495 for new pads and discs on rear.
They are adamant this isn't covered by warranty. Is the price within normal range or should I shop around, and if I do, would car still be in warranty if I replaced the discs/pads elsewhere?
Update:
Dealership is saying a seized calliper on front has caused the brakes to wear down prematurely. The calliper is probably covered by warranty (So £-340 for front disc situation) but the subsequential damage to brake discs is not.
They're also saying they can't repair the callipers (probably covered by warranty, so minus £350) if we try to get the discs done ourselves, as they won't put new callipers on old discs, and don't advise getting new discs (elsewhere) on the old callipers.
Called Kia customer service who are not saying anything about the subsequential damage, until the speak to dealership.
