I am trying to build a PC for the first time in my life and am still a little confused on some MOBO aspects. I plan on purchasing this microcenter bundle for a gaming PC:

I'm aware of X3d and I don't really care about the cache that much. I want good storage on a decent budget. I planned on having a 1TB ssd for games and the OS, and just filling the rest of my storage with HDDs and maybe SATA ssd? What are the best budget storage options, and is SATA ssd storage a smart investment? How many of what type does this MOBO support? I know it has 4 SATA slots, that makes sense. But what in God's name are the different m.2 types it supports? What is sata express? Why does it have 1 PCIE 5 slot and then 2 PCIE 4 slots? What does the number mean, and what is PCIE for? I always thought it was just for GPU, audio card, wifi card, etc. Are they also for storage? Or does this MOBO just have 3 m.2 slots, and 4 SATA slots? Thanks in advance.
