Hey everyone,

I’m a 30-year-old male and I’m looking for advice or to hear from anyone who has gone through something similar.

My background:

- Been on oral finasteride 1mg daily for around 4 years
- Been on **oral minoxidil 10mg for 9 months **
- Had a hair transplant 4 years ago for my temples/hairline
- Had a second hair transplant 2 years ago for my crown
- Use Nizoral shampoo

When I first started finasteride, I had an extreme shed for the first 6 to 9 months, then it stabilised. Around year 2, I had another smaller shed that lasted about 2 months, then things seemed to settle again.

But now I’m experiencing the worst shedding I’ve had so far. It’s especially bad around my crown and temples, but I’m also shedding generally across the top of my head.

This feels much more intense than my previous sheds, and I’m not sure whether this is another cycle, seasonal shedding, medication-related, progression of MPB, or something else like a deficiency/stress/hormones.

Has anyone experienced a major shed this far into treatment after years of stability?

Would really appreciate hearing:

- What caused it for you?
- Did it stop on its own?
- Did you change anything that helped?
- Are there any blood tests, supplements, treatments, or checks you’d recommend?

I’ll also be speaking with a dermatologist/hair specialist, but I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences from people who’ve been through it.

Thanks in advance.
