My friend came to me for ID and we’ve been trying to figure out this bird’s identity for maybe 30 minutes—I’m thinking it’s a hooded oriole, but that’d be a bit of a rarity out in OK… any clues or Id welcome :3

It’s just actively dying, I chopped the stalk a week or so ago because the bloom was knocked off the plant by a light bump into it

6+ hours of light, both filtered sun and grow-lights. watered whenever the soil gets too dry (but it’s never totally bone dry, (iirc irises like moister soil, I use normal indoor potting mix)

there is no root rot happening when I looked, and the tip of the rhizome is exposed to light
