Would like to hear opinions on what people would say to Doom 3 getting like a modern day remaster. Something that could be sold digitally and physically. Yes I know there was the BFG edition released little over a decade ago but that didn't do a whole lot to improve on the graphics

Concept I imagine is maybe giving the game a near complete graphical overhaul using something Like Doom 2016 graphics, giving some enemies major texture upgrades.

Like don't get me wrong Doom 3 actually has incredible textures and graphics compared to other console games of that time. Though of course unfortunately some designs, textures and animations for like enemies and weapons didn't age well. (Yeah I'm willing to risk my neck saying that)

Some noteable examples.

Revenant

The transparent design is definitely good giving it that ghost-like appearance but at the same time sort of looks like wearing clear suit

Mancubus

What I consider the worst looking version of the Mancubus in the 3D games. Looks like just a huge blob of flesh and fatty tissue.

Vagary

Thing is actually the stuff of nightmares and easily make anyone with arachnophobia want to close the game. Though again textures are clearly dated and lack some details, I could imagine like giving the human body more like cuts and covered in blood, and make the back half look more like it's filled with fluid and the human head inside have animations.

Pinky

While actually one of my favorite Pinky designs in the Doom games again you start to see how the textures and details haven't aged the best. Could perhaps have it drip blood

Now weapon designs and such same thing, definitely be nice to have better projectile and sound design for some.

Additional feature being the Resurrection of Evil DLC expansion would obviously be included.

One thing I've noticed in this game is tons of the locations have vehicles at them and yet there is never anyone inside them.

So why not a few missions that are dedicated to dealing with people that are inside like a car.

For example a vehicle pursuit aftermath where prior to the SWAT team arriving there was a high speed chase with violent fugitives who kidnapped someone and it led to maybe a crash and there had already been police officers wounded or killed by them. So the objectives are to end the shootout by apprehending or incapacitating the fugitives inside the car and rescue the hostage in order to complete.

Another mission idea is a car bomb type mission where a terrorist group (presumably like The Left Behind) has a bomb inside vans or trucks in a building and you have to take out guys inside vehicles and then open the doors and disarm the explosives or locate them as the objectives.

And a mission where a drive-by shooting takes place. Lore being you actually just conducted a raid on maybe a drug den ran by a cartel and now the smugglers are retaliating by calling in backup. Say like vehicles spawn in and guys in them try shooting at your team and then get out of the vehicle or stay inside and you have to try shooting them through the car windows.
