Ticking/clicking(?) sound after oil change.
2013 GMC Sierra 1500, 5.3l 8 cylinder. I recently got an oil change at a quick lube. I was probably only 1000 miles overdue so nothing too crazy. They tried to get me to do a full engine flush for $200 but I politely declined. Maybe I should’ve gone with that but I went with the $140 oil additive/treatment. There is oil on the dipstick. At first I wondered if maybe it was a heat shield noise, pretty sure I’ve ruled that out.
Anyway, not sure the noise is related to the oil change but it definitely started almost immediately after. Noise happens most when accelerating. Doesn’t usually happen at idle so when I heard it doing it here I thought I’d grab a recording of it. Did they use the wrong oil or filter possibly? Any help/recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
