Been playing Y right from its release, and then took a break a bit before mid way as I was busy and I wanted to wait for the DLC.
Now that they're all released (with an extra one), I'm thinking about getting back to it, but I'd like to know a few things.
How does the story of DLC feel like? Is it a kind of stand alone story, where all characters of that DLC talk actively? Are they just 1-2 episode long stages where only 1 series appears? (like, if you start Getter Robo stage, you have a short story of 2 episodes with only Getter Robo characters and a few of the main story ones, and then for other series you don't see them again)
Can you choose in which order you play DLC stages? I know you don't unlock them all immediately.
Do DLC characters talk a bit during main story, or they're just 100% guest characters?
How do you feel about Master Difficulty? I kinda liked the hardest difficulty until now, as units were tanky enough not to be killed in one attack, strong enough to actually threaten your units, and accurate enough to actually hit them. Although it was starting to get easier, especially in stages with few bosses (in that regards, I loved the Macross stage where you had like 6 optional bosses to beat, made it really hard to clear it in time).
Can I expect the game to offer some challenge past 50% of the story even without Master Difficulty? Should I swap to it? If I do, will it lock me out of some units because they just can't do a thing, or will it still work good enough with the right custom?
- Not a question but just a rant, but I really hope they stop releasing new difficulty a year later, and start releasing it immediately. Now, I just won't feel like playing SRW day 1 again, as I hate it when I can't get the correct difficulty right away (I feel these games are way better when there is an actual challenge, otherwise you could just play auto and clear the game)
