Does anyone use alfatradiol? Does it do anything at all??

Really curious about this stuff. I see it recommended a lot on here as a weaker alternative to topical finasteride but can anyone actually vouch for it? The studies are very underwhelming from what I’ve read. Can any of you guys share your experience?

Can males use topical spironolactone?

Got a bottle of 1% solution. The clinic that prescribed this said it’s suitable for males and it’s a popular choice for those who can’t tolerate finasteride. The studies (limited) suggest no systemic absorption and moderate effectiveness, but I’ve seen a whole load of warnings that males shouldn’t go near this stuff. Anyone got any insights? I’d really appreciate some advice.

Cis male here. From what I’ve read, topically applied spironolactone isn’t absorbed systemically. Can anyone share their experience? Thank you.

Hey guys.

It’s really difficult to figure out if these lower concentrations do anything. There are plenty of topical solutions that provide 0.1% finasteride and above, but when using these, the reduction in serum DHT is pretty much equal to that achieved with the oral medication, so it’s difficult to understand what the localised effect is.

To confuse things further, a lot of the early growth seen from the combined minoxidil plus finasteride solutions seen in new users is likely attributable to the minoxidil.

Can anyone share their own experience of low dose topical finasteride? Does it work or not? Was the study reporting positive results with topical 0.005% finasteride flawed?

Thank you.
