My printer room was full of smoke. Help
I have an elegoo saturn 4 16k. I’ve been printing for a couple months no issues. I have a fireproof ventilation enclosure. It’s about 4 feet cubed. It has a charcoal filter and PC fan to send fumes straight out the window. I printed a window insert so it’s airtight and fumes don’t blow back into the house.
I just finished an 8 hour print. The temperature of the elegoo Abs like 2.0 resin was 30c because the vat self heats. The enclosure said the temperature was 37c. I’ve had it go as high as 40c, a second fan turns on at this temp to bring in some cool air.
The issue happened when I went to complete the post printing process. I waited maybe an hour for the resin to drip of the print. Before the hour I checked the room and no issues. When I came back the whole room was full of smoke and the fire alarm was blaring. I found no sources of ignition in the whole room. There was noting burned, just visible smoke. It smelt like burnt plastic and no resin. When I opened the printer box everything was fine. It was warm and there didn’t seem to be smoke coming from the printer itself.
Basically my question is can Elegoo ABS like 2.0 resin create visible smoke at 40c? Was it my printer, and is there a way to check in the printer settings?
