Found Baby Mockingbird in my Pool…
I found a baby mockingbird in my pool drain today (Tampa Bay Florida). Luckily, I jumped in for a few minutes after mowing the lawn and found him. Mom and dad were watching from the power lines above and I looked over to the little bush in my yard and saw another baby staring at me. I looked in the middle of the bush and saw a nest so I used a small towel and put the baby from the pool in the nest and let him be.
It’s been about 2 hours or so now and I’ve noticed that the parents are only coming back to the baby that DIDNT fall in the pool and not going back to the one that did.
I’ll keep monitoring the situation but is this something I should be worried about or will mom and dad start feeding the it again eventually?
