Hi all.

I’m trying to log in to my eBay account but it’s tied to my old phone number.

When I click on “add new number” I do so, then I get a code. No issues.

Then it prompts me to verify my identity. Using photo of ID and myself. There lies the problem as both my passport and driving license is out of date ( I don’t have a car). So I fail verification.

I try to contact eBay via chat support. I explain the issue then chat agent says “have us call you”. There’s no option to text chat. I can’t use phone calls as I’m deaf and have a speech impediment. I’ve tried various options to reach text chat to agent. When I click on “deaf or hard of hearing”…. It leads me to a form which I have to fill out. I do so.

EBay support email me saying to verify my identity, u need to follow the instructions and “have us call you”.

I’ve explained multiple times I’m deaf and unable to use the phone. But I keep getting a copy and paste response saying “have us call you”. I can’t as I can’t hear the phone. I don’t know why eBay support find that difficult to understand?

How are we supposed to contact eBay if we are deaf? There’s no option for chat support as I can’t get into my account.

I have text relay but it only works when I ring, not incoming calls.

I feel stuck because eBay aren’t willing to adapt due to my disability.

I have no way of contacting them to get back into my account.
