Feeling sad

I feel sad. Sad about the tour cancellations. Sad about all that Zayn is going through that led to the cancelling of the shows. Sad about all the terrible things people are saying about him. Sad about how people start and spread rumors. Sad about how Zayn fans are being unkind to one another. Sad that I won’t get to see my favorite artist this year. Sad that I only bought tickets to see Niall, Louis and Harry because I was seeing Zayn and how could I not see all four of them? Now I’m not seeing Zayn and I feel sad about even going to see the other boys. Sad I didn’t see this coming. Sad it came to this. I just feel SAD! 😔

Zayn’s health matters more than his career or our entertainment.

I can recognize that and still feel heartbroken 💔 over the news of him cancelling all US shows, and also be confused because it doesn’t make sense! He’s still doing the shows outside of the US that are scheduled closer to his recovery from medical issues but is canceling US shows that are further out from his recovery and logistically closer to where he lives, thereby reducing extensive travel for him. And then he is still doing the shows scheduled after the US tour dates? I just can’t wrap my head around it! It just seems to point more toward NOT touring in the US than about recovery.

Admittedly, I do not know his reasons or his reasoning. I am just looking at it from a US fan’s perspective (who had tickets for 6 of his US shows). I’m deeply saddened about this. Let me reiterate that I care more about his health than my entertainment experiences!!! I’m just trying to make logical sense of the shows cancelled compared to the shows not cancelled, and I can’t help but think it may have more to do with things he is (or has) experienced in this country, and not just about recovering. ❤️‍🩹

I truly hope he finds healing, both physically and emotionally. ❤️😔❤️

Not to take away from the appreciation of any song on Zayn's Konnakol album, because I am a huge fan of it and think every song on the album is excellent in terms of showcasing Zayn's abilities, because he is clearly multitalented in so many ways, but does anyone else wish the entire album had the same Konnakol vibe as the records Nusrat, Betting Folk, Used to the Blues, Take Turns, and Fatal?

I feel like this could have easily been released as two highly successful but separately stylized albums. One as a continuation of the sexy sultry vibe of his first three albums (with songs like Sideways, Met Tonight, Like I Have You, Loving You The Way I Do, Breathe, Die For Me, Bad For You, and Raise the Dead) and then Konnakol as an album with a vibe like Room Under the Stairs, combined with the unique and upbeat Konnakol technique. I would have loved hearing more songs with that amazing and upbeat vibe (that draws me in big time) on the Konnakol album as a whole. I love the new Konnakol vibe so much that I want more of it!

In looking at the alleged dispute between Zayn and Louis, I do think their was an issue between them that halted both the filming and the friendship, but I don’t think the situation is being represented accurately by the sources sharing it.

I’m not oblivious to the fact that the truth may be different than what we (as fans) want it to be or hope for it to be, but even if the truth paints Zayn in a negative light, I will continue being a dedicated Zayn fan who gets tattoos that honor him and his work.

The reason for this is because one situation or altercation does not define a man as a whole. If Zayn is at fault for doing Louis wrong then the cost of the lost friendship is consequence enough. But we all know that won’t stop the slander and Zayn shaming.

In looking back, I think there was a lot of love and friction between the 1D boys while in the band. However, since Zayn left the band and 1D took an indefinite hiatus, there has since developed a lot of unresolved hurt between the boys, which would make it challenging to rekindle the (plutonic) love between them without consciously resolving the issues that caused the hurts. Otherwise, ignoring them can lead to outbursts, altercations, and other seemingly unforgivable actions.

What would have been beneficial is if the people in charge of the Netflix docuseries (that is now apparently null and void) would have recognized the need to have professional mental support available on set to help Zayn and Louis navigate the emotions that would have inevitably arose during filming.

No Zayn fan can truly deny that Zayn has shown evidence of having a quick temper with volatile reactions, from his early days in the band and beyond. However, that doesn’t make him a terrible person as he is being portrayed and it doesn’t take away from the many great things he has said or done as an artist, as a father, or as a human.

Although I know there are legal reasons for not discussing certain issues and based on past experiences, Zayn tends to choose silence over manipulating the narrative, I would still like for the boys to recognize how invested their fans are in them as people and (out of a respect for that) provide fans with an update (from them personally) on the validity of the alleged incident.

Additionally, it would be more than satisfying to receive an update from Zayn, or his team, on his health condition (that he chose to share publicly). Since posting the photo of himself in the hospital and indicating he was experiencing a heart-related medical condition, his fans have been left in the dark to wonder and worry about him and his health status.

TBH, all of this genuine concern and anxiety over people I don’t even know (outside of their professional work) is negatively impacting my own mental and emotional health.
