I recently started talking to a guy I met through work, and I have known him for about a month. From day one, he was very intense calling 24/7, talking about marriage, and saying I was "the one." I was honest that I needed to take things slow, but he pushed for a fast "connection."

A few nights ago, he called me at 2:00 AM. During the conversation, I had a slip of the tongue and accidentally called him by my ex’s name (I was in a 10-year LDR that ended recently). It was just a slip of tongue. It meant nothing, I am not even in touch with my ex and have no feelings for him. However, he got furious and hung up.

I called him back multiple times immediately after he disconnected, and I sent texts explaining and apologizing, but he hasn't replied to anything. Just days ago, he admitted he usually ghosts people, but he promised he would never ghost me. To him, "communication is key," but now he hasn't cared to communicate even once.

I’m okay with things ending, but I’m hurt by the silence. After all the "serious" talk, don't I at least deserve a goodbye? Or was my mistake so bad that ghosting is justified?
