I picked up the M43 Pocket Dispo lens last year and have been pleasantly surprised.
As a novice I liked the idea of a cheap simple lens that does something fun albeit gimmicky, and it’s scratched the itch pretty well. Here are two of my favorite recent examples taken in Savannah on an Olympus OMD EM-1.
My only criticisms are that while I love the idea in principle, I am a little skeptical that this is really “eco-friendly“ given that they share no information on how they recycle the rest of the disposable cameras after they extract the lenses which are ultimately reset in plastic bodies. It would be nice if they were more transparent about their supply chain.
I also think the marketing is a little misleading, as their angle seems to be that it’s a magic nostalgia filter that gives an instant dreamy sun-drenched look. If you absolve yourself of those expectations and understand it’s limited to use in specific conditions, I think it’s definitely worth the price.
