A new female friend of mine used to come over to my (M) house every now and then with her dog. We are both in our 40s. We both sat on different couches in my living room as we are friends and nothing more.

About a month ago she started saying "let meet outside" when I would ask her to come over. One day she admitted that she was not comfortable coming over and that we can meet outside.

This has been working on my mind and I'm wondering if I should ask her why she doesn't want to come over any more.

How can you suggest I handle this?
