Setting up Apple Find My on my GO Ultra was really quick:
- Turn on the camera.
- Go to Settings and open Apple Find My.
- Tap Start Pairing.
- On your iPhone, open the Find My app and add the camera. Bluetooth should be enabled.
- Name it and link it to your Apple Account.
After that, it works pretty much like other Find My items.
A few tips from actually using it:
- Charge the camera before you head out. Don’t gamble on this. If the battery is dead, Find My will not help. If the camera still has some battery left, it can still show up in Find My, even if it is not actively being used.
- Use Play Sound when you are trying to find it. In my testing, even if my GO Ultra was set to silent, it still played a sound when I triggered it through Find My.
- This only works for the camera itself. It does not work for the Action Pod, so if the camera is not inside the pod, the pod is not being tracked.
- It only works with Apple devices running iOS 13 or later. I tested it on an iPhone 16, so that is the only one I can personally confirm.
- Right now, only the GO 3S and GO Ultra support Apple Find My.
I forgot that this feature exists and didn't set it up until recently. If you just got your GO Ultra, worth setting it up now instead of later.
