Posting to see if anyone has dealt with something similar, and if so how.

Had a robotic assisted ventral hernia repair done in November of 2025. Dealt with alot of pain since the surgery. Recently confirmed that I have a recurrence in the area the original hernia was repaired. Surgeon recommend ETEP repair next since ultrasound looked like multiple small hernias in the area.

Unfortunately due to my nature of my work(seasonal) surgery isn’t really feasible for me to get until the end of summer. (Late September or October). For now I’m stuck dealing with the pain from it. It’s a small hernia but is constantly bothersome. Pain usually lingers around a 2-3/10 but gets up to 4-5/10 at the worst times.

Wondered if anyone has advice on dealing with this pain until I can get the surgery to correct it. OTC medicine doesn’t really seem to have an effect. Soaking in a warm bath can help but doesn’t solve it. Honestly the best thing has been doing things that distract me from the pain.

Any advice from yall would be much appreciated. This whole process has taken a big toll on my mental health and I need to find some relief from this constant pain.
