I’ve done the research that says I need an in-person interview for a name change (not by marriage, but by court order). When I go through the steps on the website it gives me an appointment at the end of June, which will be close to 60 days. I’ve checked all offices within 60 miles of me. The instructions clearly state it must be changed with social security within 45 days of the order. Can I walk into an office without an appointment since they can’t offer an earlier appointment?

I had gastric bypass in June 2024. HW: 430, CW 245. I was scheduled to have a hernia repair, but when I went in for the pre-surgical stuff they cancelled my surgery because of an irregular EKG. I had a cardiac stress test and the cardiologist said the EKG was still not good. Now I’m scheduled for a cardiac catheter. He isn’t sure, but says my weight loss could have changed the structure of my heart, could be disease, could be all kinds of stuff but he’s sure there’s some abnormality that will at least need medication, the cath should help diagnose. Funnily enough, I had normal EKGs when I was 400+. I’m really bummed about all this and can’t believe I worked this hard and still have serious health issues. I really didn’t anticipate this. Anyway, needed to vent that.

So my question is, all the cardiac healthy diets seem to prioritize fiber and vegetables, and obviously I have to prioritize protein. Does anyone have any experience with this? It feels counterintuitive to my gastric bypass but I don’t want to exacerbate cardiac issues either. I still have a lot of weight to lose before I reach my goal weight. I just feel like I’m spinning. Am I overthinking this? Anyone have any insights?

Edited to add: my dietician has also said that as a bariatric patient, I’m not supposed to have fat free/reduced fat, which obviously conflicts with cardiac diets
