EV Chargers - HELP an overthinker

Hi All,

Firstly I apologize in advance as a chronic overthinker but we are taking delivery of a brand new Peugeot E-5008 next month and I have been trying my very best to educate myself on EV chargers and what I should look for and my brain is now MUSH.

Hoping to get some better advice from you lovely people.

After looking into EV chargers I am starting to get lost the more I think I learn

I started looking at Octopus and was drawn to the OHME ones they do but then I read a few things online about the small chance they may after 3 years charge for their 3g/4g connections, I also noticed a few electricians stating the Ohme is more of an enclosed unit so any faults can lead to it just beng dead and needing to be replaced rather than repaired.

  • I had a look at the POD POINT deals and they seemed ok but they don't work with some of the smart tarrifs like octopus so i am cautious of that one.
  • The HIVE ones sound good but they are at least £300 ish more than any of the others so seems silly to go with them.
  • lots of people online reccomend the HYPERVOLT and as far as I know they work with all of the smart tariffs and also no sim card or sealed units that might brick.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts?
