Advice on what to do
Hey everyone :) needing a bit of advice on what I should do. I’m currently learning to drive automatic and have had about 20 lessons so far, one a week. I really wanted to increase this to 2 lessons a week, but my instructor can’t fit that in, which I completely understand.
I’m really eager to pass my test, but I also know these things take time. The issue is my instructor hasn’t really been upfront with me about a rough timeline for when I should book my test. I ended up asking him a couple of weeks ago, and he said probably the end of October, which honestly disappointed me because I was hoping it would be sooner.
I’m a confident driver and I pick things up quickly — I just need more time on the road and a bit of reassurance sometimes. I’ve already booked my test for the start of October, and my instructor didn’t really say much about it. He’s a nice guy and a good instructor overall, but he’s terrible at replying (ignored me for a week after telling him I had booked my test) He also got annoyed because I had messaged other instructors to see about availability after he had ignored, and somehow it got back to him.
Now I’m really second guessing everything. I don’t know whether to continue lessons with him or do an intensive course with another instructor and hopefully pass sooner. The thought of continuing for another 20 weeks is honestly making me dread lessons, and this whole situation has really spiked my anxiety around driving with him.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or got any advice?
