9070xt vs 5070ti Ray Tracing / Path Tracing. Dlss / Fsr

I am trying to choose between the RTX 5070 ti and the RX 9070 XT.

I have a 3080 right now and initially I wanted to upgrade because 10gb vram isn't good enough for the vr games I want to play. But this question on these 2 gpu options hinges on flatscreen performance.

These 2 cards from what I've seen in benchmarks, trade blows of 10fps or less, but that isn't the problem. In ray tracing the 5070ti has better performance. Some games look basically the same without ray tracing. Path tracing is somewhat noticeable in the games that use it, and the 9070xt is basically dead with it.

Upscaling is also a part in this because with my 3080 when there is stuttering I like to turn it on to quality mode and it doesn't bother me apart from some smeary ghosting. Basically, if Nvidia has better upscaling, that just means more fps. I've heard that amd's looks worse.

On ebay the 5070ti is usually around $200 more expensive.

My monitor is 1440p and 60hz, and I probably will not get a new one for a while, and when I do it's going to be oled at maybe 120hz? I have no interest in 4k because I can't imagine a screen looking clearer than this, and If I upgrade it will just become the new normal at a higher performance cost.

I was thinking about getting a new graphics card for VR, and one benefit would be a smoother refresh rate with my PSVR2. I've tried lowering the resolution in steam vr home and switching it to 120hz mod, but I can't see it. Before when I was trying to see it with my Pimax Crystal Light, the Pimax Performance viewer in the menu was switching between 60fps and 120fps. Basically I don't know how to tell if I am seeing 120hz because I want to know if it actually makes a difference.
