Conservatory Closed This Week

Don’t be like me and drag your two small children in the freezing rain to the conservatory this week. Went for 11am this morning and the doors were locked for maintenance. I would have appreciated a post before 10:30am on their Facebook page before I dragged a stroller and toddler through that disastrous parking lot. Which I hope they are redoing this summer? Or at least add some signs on where to park.

So how do you actually co-sleep? Do I have to go to bed at 7pm every night?

I have an 8 month old. He was sleep trained and slept pretty much independently from 4 months on. Well he now requires a helmet for his flat head and will not sleep with it. So looking like I need to try co sleeping. I don’t even know if it will work. Do I just lay with him at bedtime? Do I go to sleep then or try and escape after he falls asleep? I feel like I will try mattress on the floor in his room first.

Will my baby have a flat head forever? [on]

Hi everyone. My 8 month old has severe brachycephaly (flat head on the direct back of head). We just got him a cranial ortho helmet about 10 days ago. Even after weaning him in, we cannot get him to sleep at night with it. He was sleep trained prior, and slept independently. Naps have been okay but he won’t stop crying at bedtime. He is requiring being rocked to sleep, won’t transfer to the crib well, and then usually followed by multiple wake ups to the point we just take the helmet off so we can all sleep. I just can’t see him ever sleeping with it overnight, which is the most crucial time on his back. Ugh I just feel like we are doing this all for nothing. Looking for other experiences or if your kid has a flat head, does it really matter?

We have him in very light clothing, sleep sac and lowered the temperature in our home.

Our 8 month old recently got a baby helmet for his flat head. He was sleep trained at 4 months, and we are currently on 2.75/3.5/4. Things have kind of gone sour with the helmet obviously. Naps are fine and he falls asleep independently for those. Bedtime is a mix of him not falling asleep independently, or waking up in the night. We’ve had to rock him to sleep at some point every night and it’s been really hard to transfer him back to the crib without him waking. I know it’s the helmet, so looking for other experience. Did it get better? Did you sometimes remove the helmet at night?
