I love my mom, but personality wise we’ve never really meshed well. Still, we’re fairly close despite the bickering that happens. In the past I’ve been immature and allowed arguments with my mom to escalate to the point where we don’t talk for months. I had this realization, like, she’s 75… She loves me and I love her. How much time do we really have left together? To spend it fighting is unbelievable but it seems impossible not to!!
In particular we argue because she thinks we don’t spend enough time together. When we do get together she can be extremely high strung, yelling and panicking if we have trouble finding each other in the parking lot for example. I’m high strung too so we rile eachother up 🥴. Does anyone else here have a needy mom that they love but can’t meet their needs? How have you set boundaries, and how do you maintain a good relationship?
