I have become a fan of chain waxing, I did my first 400-500km (till the chain became noisy) on my RS120 on the first waxed chain, meanwhile ordered another chain and then waxed both (the re-waxing of the original chain as well as the first waxing of the new chain) in a single batch, now I'm on the second waxing cycle. Till now I've been using 100% paraffin wax, pellets are available on Amazon in 500g qty. I read about additives and ordered microcrystalline wax also from Amazon, but the minimum order quantity was 1kg. Now the recommended quantity of microcrystalline is 5-10% (maybe a bit higher, varies by source), but I've got a whole slab of microcrystalline. Has anyone used straight microcrystalline? Any pros or cons of going this route?
