So an old lady knocked on my door with a dog next to her asking me if I could find its home because she was so tired from walking with her own dog and wanted it to find its home. I let the dog in my kitchen to drink water and have some kibbles (which is separated from the rest of the house via baby gate) so I believed everything was okay. My 11 month old child would not be able to get hurt or be scared by the visiting dog. I realize the dog isn’t comfortable being still in the kitchen so I go to let him out into the porch and when I come back around the kitchen island I see my daughter has something in her mouth and it’s producing a lot of dark reddish liquid. I freaked out getting whatever was in there out and realized it is a huge tick and she has its contents all in her mouth. I’m not sure if it had any time or ability to bite the inside of her mouth but I am SO SCARED AND I HAVEN’T SEEN ANYONE GOING THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE!! How does this work? What should I know? I have called the doctor had an online appointment within 20 min of the incident and they told me not to worry about anything unless symptoms of Lyme disease are starting to become visible. What can I do? Is there a way to stop something bad from happening before any symptoms were to come to light?????? What about parasites?????????????
