Lived here for less than six months and already been the victim of theft TWICE
So today I got my purse stolen. From my WORKPLACE! I work at the Queen Mary and work up in the Observation Bar. I get into the kitchen area we have up there and leave my belongings where I’ve been leaving them for the past two nearing three months I’ve been working there now. About forty five minutes into service I realize my Batman backpack is suddenly gone. I start panicking and immediately think maybe I’m just having another dumb ADHD moment but no, no. I KNOW I put it in the kitchen.
About ten minutes into looking the realization starts to set in that some assbutt went inside the employees only area and grabbed my purse.
First my wig being stolen off my front porch and now this.
I ended up crying my eyes out and found a nice cop to help me search for it. Luckily I had an AirTag on my wallet (because I’m stupid and lose my wallet around the house) and ended up finding my empty wallet and keys at the park next to the Queen Mary.
I filed a police report. I know I’m luckier than most though because I found what matters to me most.
The wallet I’ve had since I was fourteen and it has sentimental value. The Batman backpack I bought at a con a few years back but it was $100 so I was happy they at least found it empty in the women’s bathroom downstairs. I find it hilarious they left the backpack and my single AirPod in its case in there but took all my eczema cream and stuff for my plantar fasciitis.
In short, I’m not enjoying the amount of theft in this city. I go to work to get PAID, not to LOSE MONEY.
