Would going up and down a set of stairs be a good substitute for hiking?

Training for some backpacking trips this summer and I still feel a little inadequate with my full pack, and I can’t always get out to the trails due to life. Would wearing my fully loaded pack, and going up and down a pretty decent flight of stairs help with building those muscles, or would the repetitive movement put too much strain on things.

Gnawfeast + Crixxit spearheads as a start to an army?

I’ve accrued both of these spearheads (unbuilt) just from other bundle boxes, but I haven’t been able to sell them in my area. Would this make a solid 1000pt army or is it just kinda pulling too much in different directions?

Just finished The Stand and Under The Indifferent Stars back to back!

I would listen to the stand audiobook when I was solo at work, or when I would go out on days long hiking trips, usually for 5 or 6 hours at a time and I couldn’t get enough. This is probably going to be one of my favorite books of all time and def a yearly reread. I also would then read Under The Indifferent Stars by Daniel James Brown (about the Donner Party) in my free time when I got home, and I loved the parallel stories of people “in exodus”, and the hardships they endured on their journey.

This is all to say that I’m looking for recommendations on my next book to read! The Stand was my first Stephen King book and it has me eager to read more of his works, but I’m open to anything that hits similar beats as described above. I have another large hiking trip coming up and I would love to feel as though I’m walking alongside the people in harsh conditions, baking in sweat and sun as I trudge my way up a mountain :) I also found the audiobook format to be a revolutionary way for me to chew through books I normally never would’ve picked up, so something of incredibly vast size is not deterrent to me

Been super tempted to add some ranged flair to the army but it went up in points (380pts now I think), and it’s been awhile since that change so I wanted to see how it’s been performing for those of you that run it in your lists.
