new jersey is hell for anyone who likes guns seriously
sitting here thinking, why did i even move here, work i guess but gun laws are just insane, like anyone who buys an upper is gonna rob a bank tomorrow.i have an old lower from when i lived in pennsylvania, it was fine there, buy it and enjoy, but here i look at the rules, their stupid read some bs about forged grips banned, folding stocks banned, barrel weight has to be something, im already confused .so i decided to look for an upper for something thats both legal and not boring, i mean not the same 556 all the time, sometimes you wanna shoot something heavier, or quieter maybe for a suppressor but suppressors in nj thats a whole different story
back to our problem, i just wanna understand who in nj builds something non standard, how do you get around these stupid restrictions, for example i read that for 300 blackout you need to check that the barrel is not just any barrel but with a specific thread and if you have a pistol then its a different story anyway im confused, on one hand i wanna build something interesting in 6.5 grendel or 224 valkyrie, on the other hand im scared the cops will show up cause your barrel is half an inch longer than allowed or something elsee
maybe someone already went through this, tell me where you order uppers so they are nj compliant, that site i found is based in texas and i think they ship anywhere but not sure about our local bs.and about magazines, i saw they sell separate mags for 6.8 spc and 7.62x39, but in nj capacity is limited so you gotta either diy it or find special ones. so if any folks from new jersey who built something other than standard 556, hit me up, tell me how and where you got parts, so i dont step on the same rake
p.s. laws are dumb but what can you do, we live in a swamp
I’m planning a move to San Francisco soon for work and trying to find a room without getting scammed or overpaying. I’ve heard a lot about fake listings and random prices, so I’m trying to be more careful this time and not rush into something bad.
I’ve been browsing different sites and saw roomster pop up a few times, but I'm not sure if it’s actually reliable in SF or if it’s hit or miss. Has anyone here used it recently and found something legit?
What do you usually check to spot fake or overpriced listings? Like, what are clear red flags? Also, are facebook groups or craigslist still better, or is there a cheaper and safer way people are using now?
I’ve been on a massive 70s rock kick lately, and while the studio albums are great, I feel like I’m missing out on the real deal. I’ve heard that for some of these bands, the live shows were actually better than the records because of the improvisation and the raw energy. I just watched The Song Remains the Same by Led Zeppelin and it blew my mind, but I’m looking for more. What’s the one live album or filmed concert from the 70s that every fan needs to experience at least once? Thanks guys.
I feel like five or ten years ago, if I had a specific question about a niche hobby, a weird tech bug, or even just a recipe, I could find a direct answer on the first page of Google. Now, every time I search for something, the top results are just endless AI junk, or pages buried in ads that never actually get to the point. Do you have a go to site or "secret" way of searching that still actually gives you real, honest answers?
I just moved into my first solo apartment and I’m officially in the "living out of boxes" phase. The place is pretty small, and after paying the security deposit and first month's rent, my decorating budget is basically non-existent.
I really want to make it look nice and personal without it feeling cluttered or like a dorm room. I’ve been looking at thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace, but I’m struggling with how to actually layout a small room so it doesn't feel tiny. I'm especially looking for ways to brighten it up since I don't have a ton of natural light. Thanks :)
Hey everyone. I just started a new job near Grand Central and I’m already seeing my bank account scream from these $18 mediocre salads. I’m looking for those legendary "hidden gem" spots where I can actually get a filling meal for under $12 without it being a standard Halal cart (though I love my chicken over rice, I need a rotation).
Are there any specific deli counters, hole-in-the-wall dumpling spots, or basement cafeterias you guys swear by? I’m willing to walk 10–15 minutes in any direction if the food is legit. Give me your best kept secrets so I can stop eating overpriced kale!
