Advice needed for how to spend my summer as incoming HS senior who got rejected from summer programs

Hello, I’m an incoming high school senior and I got rejected from all the prestigious summer programs I applied to this yr (RSI, SSP, MITES, etc). I’m worried because I still don’t have anything to this summer and my goal is to get into MIT. I know cold emailing for a research position is still an option, although very difficult at this point, so I need some advice on how to best utilize my summer. Right now my ecs are pretty basic, one thing I do have though is I got an award for the MIT Global AI Hackathon, but I’m unsure how prestigious of an award that is and the impact it will have on my app. Would it be realistic for me to create a personal project during the summer like a website, app, or smth else that would see a measurable impact in time for next year’s college app season? I would appreciate any advice or ideas. Thanks!

Even tho i knew way less about physics 2 then 1 (only studied thermo to magnetism) it still wasnt horrible, prob because there wasn’t that many conceptual mcqs. Still 99.9% sure i did better on physics 1 tho. I got version L for FRQs which was lucky since J had a modern physics question for frq #1, and overall i think i did well on frq #3 and #4. I think I have a decent shot at getting a 4.

anyone else that took ap physics 2 today (for US) how did it feel?

AP Stats exam was pretty easy

hi guys just took the stats exam for US and i found it really easy even tho i didnt study for it like at all. i was a little worried since i had to lock in on physics 1 and 2 so i didnt take a look at anything from stat. mcqs were not bad overall i think i got 5 wrong at most. frqs were also way easier than i thought, most of the parts are easy the only thing is that they’re really long (last frq has 4 parts each with like 3 subparts 💀) and even then theres alot of partial credit to earn. if anyone else took it and wants to discuss answers lmk

guys i want to know my chances of getting a 5. basically the whole school year i been averaging high 80s to mid 90s on every test. i basically just study the day before the class test. i have no time to study cuz of physics but i want to know my odds of getting a 5. also my class did a practice mcq of 21 questions and again i didnt study for it, i got a 16/21

guys im not even joking that physics 1 exam was concerningly easy. on practice mcqs i was getting low 20s/40 but for the actual exam i can confidently say i got above 25/40 assuming worst case scenario. i also got pretty lucky with the frqs, my first question was fluids which i bsed but everything else was momentum, energy, and force stuff which i studied the most. i think i got a perfect score on frq #4 even. and maybe lost a couple pts on 2-3. lwk i might even be in range for a 5 now, when i originally thought i might get as low as a 3

what did ygs think? how were ur frqs and mcqs

i want to know if im still well in range for a 4 for ap physics 1, i basically spent most of my time on kinematics to torque (units 1-5) which ik cover most of the exam, my plan is to try and learn fluids, i dont think its worth trying to cram oscillations and rotational systems. I did around 8 questions from the progress checks for each unit and i was only getting around 1-2 wrong for each.

anyone mind sharing their typical percentage scores on the frqs? I want to get an idea of what most people are getting since I haven’t done much frq practice and i really want a 4 at least, so i want to know what to aim for on frqs. my mcqs are usually 50-60%

Does anyone know if there are certain units that are guaranteed to show up on one of the 4 frqs for physics 1 and 2? I remember hearing about it from my teacher but i forgot what units they were

my teacher although very nice and gave us alot of extra credit throughout the year, taught each unit with ridiculously long powerpoint presentations that were well over 100 slides for each unit. every single test the whole year ive been getting like 50-60 raw scores. i just started studying today for physics 1 and literally asked chatgpt the best way, and it said to watch a review video for 20 minutes and do 8 mcqs, go over them and move on. im genuinely so cooked, especially for physics 2, because i have to learn the last unit entirely myself (we didnt even have time to start it in class)

any last minute tips? should i just spam ap practice questions and figure out what i did wrong for each? i would honestly be VERY happy with a 4 on both physics 1 and 2
