Weight loss making reflux worse?

Hello,

I’ve been losing weight for the last 2 months to try and help my acid reflux (I am just slightly into the obese category of BMI). I understand that some suffer from GERD regardless of weight but I know for those like myself who are overweight, losing weight can help.

That being said, I’ve noticed a significant worsening of my reflux since losing weight. I am currently 9kg down and so I guess I thought I’d have seen an improvement by now rather than it getting worse!

Has anyone seen, heard of or experienced this before? I am wondering if it means my issue points to another root cause such as gastritis, h pylori etc or if it’s normal to experience this for a while.

Mucosa regrowth?

Hello,

Like many, I am here after considering a nose surgery and wondering whether I should really get it.

I’ve been learning a lot about this area but I know I certainly still have a lot to learn. The main question I wondered if somebody could please answer, is how does ENS work when it comes from lack of mucosa rather than lack of volume? I seem to read a lot online that mucosa recovers and regenerates after surgery but if that were the case, people with this subtype of ENS would surely be cured.

What is it that I’m missing? Is it just that the research is wrong?
