i bought some hair clips but they arrived damaged. do i have to confirmed received and then return or return without confirming the items?

i dont have many trousers because of how impossible i find it to get more.

the ones that fit me the best are a size 6 uk in h&m (2 us) but then i bought a size 8 also from h&m (i sized up because reviews said it ran tight) and it didnt fit me at all it was tight around the hips and didnt shut.

i went to return it, went to an m&s to try find some while there and had the exact same issue. sometimes a size 6 is perfect on the hips, sometimes its so small i cant get it on, sometimes a size 8 is perfect, sometimes its too tight around my hips it wont close.

and then 90% of the time when it fits perfect its only on the hips and too loose around the waist, or has that weird gap at the back.

its just exhausting having to do this endlessly with jeans and trousers until i find one pair that fits :(  i need advice as to what to look for on the rack or what styles to look for please !!
