Is it still worth buying a Nintendo Switch in 2026 for my little sister because of the new Tomodachi Life?

I don’t really know much about consoles since most of what I know about them just comes from clips and posts I see on social media, but recently I’ve been seeing a lot of videos about the new game and it honestly made me think about buying a Nintendo Switch for my little sister.

From what I’ve seen online, you can create your own characters and put them on an island where they interact with each other, and I think my little sister would absolutely love that because she’s a tiny artist and is always drawing her own OCs and characters. Seeing her own creations inside a game sounds like something she’d get really attached to.

My only problem is that I genuinely don’t know anything about consoles or gaming hardware. I only hear people talk about the Switch and the Steam Deck OLED through TikToks, YouTube videos, and random posts, so I don’t know if buying a Switch right now is still considered worth it or if it’s already outdated.

I also wanted to ask:

- Is there a cheaper option that still gives a good experience?

- What’s the difference between the normal Switch, OLED, and Lite?

- Is the Switch anywhere near as strong as a Steam Deck, or are they completely different levels?

- If someone who barely knows anything about consoles wanted to buy one mainly for games like Tomodachi Life, would the Switch still be a good choice?

Would appreciate advice from people who actually own these consoles because I’m pretty clueless about this stuff lol.

Helios 16 PH16 72-72N5 charger suddenly made a popping sound and died, would warranty usually cover this?

My Helios 16 PHN16 72 72N5 charger suddenly made a loud pop sound while I was using it, and after that it completely stopped working. I tested my laptop with a friend’s charger and the laptop itself still charges fine, so it seems like only the charger died.

The charger wasn’t physically damaged, dropped, or exposed to water or anything like that. It just suddenly failed on its own.

Does the warranty cover this kind of charger failure and provide a replacement, or are chargers normally excluded unless you bought extra coverage? Anyone here had a similar experience?
