🎶Purple Toes, Purple Toes🎶

Three weeks post-op here. In hard cast. Wondering if others have experienced this. I know purple toes can be expected when moving and doing things upright. Doctor said when it happens to elevate for 20 minutes. My question is- do you experience inconsistency with the purpling? I mean yesterday I was up and about doing a few things and didn’t notice purple toes or pressure once. Today I was up for maybe 25 mins and noticed purpling and pressure. Will this be the case the entire time my cast is on? When can I anticipate the dogs getting back to normal and not looking like sausages?

I’ll be starting 1.5mg next week. I had a major surgery limiting my ability to exercise. I can’t put weight on my foot for 3 more weeks and then I’ll be able to walk in a walking boot before starting PT.

I’m concerned about starting, but it was prescribed by my doc since I’ll be low activity for a few months I’m concerned about weight gain (I’m already “obese” perjury).

I guess I’m nervous about side effects with limited mobility. Has anyone found any tips or tricks for reducing heartburn or nausea? I don’t want to be miserable while healing either.

36M

*Edit to add I’m also concerned I won’t get results on 1.5 if I can’t exercise. Should I delay my start until I heal?

13 days post-op. Went from splint to hard cast and had stitches removed. Still swollen. Still can’t put weight on it, but feeling good to be moving along on the healing journey! Three more weeks until a walking boot, one day at a time! This group has been great for me! Thanks everyone!
