Should a CSE student who barely games buy a gaming laptop or a thin & light laptop? Fair deal at 71k?

(don't want mac)

I'm joining CSE college in around 2 months and I'm planning to buy this laptop

My usage will mainly be:

coding

college work

multitasking

watching content

light editing

Light gaming (twice in month) maybe

I'm not really a gamer honestly. Max to max I'll probably play games like 1-2 days in a month only.So I'm confused: Should I just go with this laptop at around 71k or should I go with vivobook at this price range

Also another confusion: Is it worth spending ~10k extra for the Core Ultra 7 255H version? Will there be any major real-world difference for a CSE student for ultra 7 255h or this AMD Ryzen Al 5 340 already enough?

Main priorities are:

good battery

portability

smooth performance for 4 years

decent build quality

no overheating issues

Would really appreciate honest long-term opinions from CSE students or people using this laptop?

At last I want to know iske kya kya faude honge and kya cons h usme

Meri g*nd masti to dekho

Today I had my COMEDK UGET exam and I’m really stressed about something that happened after the test ended.

When the exam time got over, the paper was getting auto submitted normally. After that, some reviews I gave that submitted the test then software screen appeared (maybe the exam browser/software, I don’t remember properly, I think it had something like “Nippon” written there). So mujhe backchodi sujhi and

Then by mistake I touched/clicked on a “Launch” button or option. After clicking it, another screen opened saying something like:

“You can login after entering your password”

My photo was also showing there on the screen. I got scared and didn’t do anything after that. The just left the lab

I just want to know:

If the exam time was already over, does COMEDK auto submit all answers safely?

Can clicking that “Launch” thing affect my submission?

Has this happened to anyone else before?

I didn’t manually submit after that because time had already ended. I’m very anxious right now. Please kissi ko idea ho bta do tbse gand fatti pdi h

Hey everyone,

I’m about to join college for CSE in around 2 months, and honestly I have zero experience with laptops. Never really used one seriously before.

From what I’ve seen on Reddit and YouTube, most people recommend going for a MacBook, especially for coding. I’m from a middle-class family, and somehow I convinced my dad for a one-time investment around 70k. I can maybe stretch it to \~80k by borrowing a bit from friends.

So my main questions:

\- Is it possible to get any MacBook (M2 / M4 / M5 — even M2 works) with 16GB RAM + 512GB storage under 80k in India? Any tricks like student discount, card offers, refurbished, etc?

\- I’ve researched a bit and Mac seems worth it long term, but I’ve also heard that later there are extra costs (repairs, accessories, etc). As a student already taking a loan for college, I realistically won’t be able to spend much later. So is Mac still a good idea?

\- If Mac isn’t practical in my budget, can you suggest some good Windows laptops under 70–80k?

My usage:

\- Coding (main priority)

\- College work

\- Editing (important)

\- Very light gaming (maybe once in a few months, not serious)

I just want something reliable for the next 4–5 years without headache.

Would really appreciate honest suggestions 🙏

Hey guys, I’m kinda stuck between two options and not able to decide what makes more sense.

I’m getting CSE at with around 30% scholarship, and on the other side I have ECE at .

Honestly, I’m more inclined towards CSE because that’s what I see myself doing in the future, but at the same time JIIT has a better reputation overall (at least from what I’ve heard).

The scholarship at Bennett also matters for me, because fees is a factor.

I’m just confused about what should I prioritize here — branch or college.

Like, does taking ECE in a better college make more sense than taking CSE in a relatively newer one? And how difficult is it actually to move towards IT/tech roles if I take ECE?

If anyone is from these colleges or has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate some real advice. No sugarcoating please.
