Hi everyone! I needed to get this off my chest… please be nice about it but please BE HONEST ya girl can take it 🤞

Anyway storytime!!!!
So I am a med student at this hospital and it’s my first or second time here and I meet a resident who is from a place thats close to where im from and so we talk a little, finding common ground etc. There is this other hospital that we both are familiar with near our hometowns. For context i really love this hospital it’s one of my fav places ever and I’ve met great people there. (Did not express all of this to him tho )

Then I did A WHOOPSIES
Being TOO comfortable and unbothered about unprofessionalism I say
“I tell my friends this but if you’re looking for residents who r cute and have it together (my fav place) institute is where it’s at”

Now I’ve told my girl friends this and we all giggle!!! Idk why I expected him to crack a grin or something

But he had the straightest face ever. Oops! A dose of awkwardness. I said it pretty loud too so people def heard!

After an extended minute he says well maybe that’s why they didn’t accept me and then walks away

I know he was joking but stilllll I can’t seem to shake this off cus it was his first impression of me!

My biggest concern was it seems like I was 1) seeing residents as just potential dates or 2) hitting on him

Ughhhhh
Pls help

TL; DR: made a personal comment at work that comes off as friend to friend versus work colleagues
