Just bought my (new to me) 2014 Boxster 981 base and I’m fixing all the things that need attention. The headlights being the most noticeable visual flaw, this vehicle spent most of its life in Texas so I can assume the heat sped up the cracking lens issue. I’ve performed many lens removal and replacement on vehicles but this is by far the most involved process compared to others. The difficulty mainly comes from the adhesive used to originally hold the lens to the housing from the factory. It can’t be heated and become pliable like normal butyl which can be done around 250f. So I had to essentially cut the old lens out and get a blade to cut around the old adhesive. It’s a process and if you don’t have the right tools, you have the potential to damage internal parts of the housing. I’m extremely happy how they turned out and am considering even offering service to help others fix their failed headlights lens as I thought $750-$1150 from other companies was a bit too high.
