Why can't they find a cause?
So, I went over test results with the neurologist. No neuropathy even showed on the nerve test. Nothing anywhere else either. No B12 deficiency. No excess B 6. My A1C was 5.6, borderline prediabetic. Six months ago, I was at 6.2 but I met with dietitian and revamped diet and it went to 5.5 and now it went up slightly. She suggested that my body might be hypersensitive to sugars and carbs. However, this was really only a guess. She said that it may be too early and the neuropathy is not showing up on the tests yet. Or that I have small tissue neuropathy, which does not show up either. Since it went to my hand on one day (a bad day), she said it was not from my spine. She also said that it was likely not vascular since that usually results in all day neuropathy, especially when standing and mine is largely at night. Which means a lack of good sleep.
So nothing to do except take my Gabapentin and keep a food diary.
This is all very frustrating.
