As many people have said on here, no case is the same. There are several factors. So I'm just looking for some advice and some clarification. Here is a quick rundown- I'm a 37 year old female that works in a warehouse. October of 2025 I was in an accident at work that broke my leg, and crushed my foot. Everything has healed, except for the foot which is still swelling, and I'm still unable to put full weight on my leg/foot due to having no feeling in part of my foot, so I'm having to use a walker. Im doing Physical Therapy 3 times a week. The lack of feeling has caused me to walk at an angle which is causing a lot of pain where they put the rods in my leg. I've been doing PT 3x a week for almost 6 months now. While I have made progress, I'm still unable to do anything I used to before the accident. I went to the doctor last Monday, I had a Workman's Comp nurse with me. This was supposed to be my last appointment before reaching MMI. However when the doctor discovered I had no feeling in half of my foot, causing me to depend on a walker to get around, he said "Before I give you an impairment rating and do your MMI I want you to do 2 more months of PT and return to me. You more than likely have severe nerve damage. It can go one of two ways. The nerves can mend and you will get feeling back, or you may never get feeling back."......when he says he's going to do my impairment rating, does that mean there is a possibility that he is going to say I'm 100% healed and have no issues, or does that mean he is going to put on paper that I'm still struggling, assuming I will be after 2 months? Im terrified. Honestly. I've only ever known this job, but I can't get in my bathtub without being in absolute agony. I can't move fast, I can barely make it up stairs even with a walker and help. Im scared hes just going to put on paper that I've healed 100 percent with no impairment. I would prefer that be the case. I would prefer to be healed. But the damage was so bad that even my PTs have said I will have issues with it the rest of my life, maybe minor issues or maybe major issues. Thanks to anyone that took the time to read and answer!
