My kid just found out that one of the kids in another choir group, someone that she liked, committed suicide. She's typically not impacted by this stuff but this seems to have broken her. I think finding out that he was suffering from his own family loss and it wasn't just out of the blue helped a bit, but she is so devastated. We're keeping her home from school tomorrow to let her have a day to absorb the news and hang out with her older sister, who unfortunately has a lot of experience with losing classmates, but I don't know what else to do for her. Any suggestions for a 15-year-old who seems to be mourning someone who she's spoken of in a way before that suggests a crush?
