For the past week, Android Auto locks up and restarts repeatedly every time I try to use it on my car's screen (2023 Subaru Crosstrek). Basically, it will load for 1 second, then a black screen for 2 seconds, load for 1 second, etc. The phone will get overheated from Android Auto repeatedly crashing and reloading, such that it won't even let me use to the camera to take a video.
The problem started around the time of the recent Bigme software update, but I'm not sure that was the cause, as Android Auto app also recently updated.
Things that don't help:
-- restarting phone
-- resetting Car's infotainment system
-- clear Android Auto app cache and storage
Things that at first would work temporarily (for 1-2 days), but then problem would start again:
-- Uninstall Android Auto in play store and then re-Update (reinstall).
I was able to Uninstall / reinstall Android Auto from the Play Store, and each time it would work ok for maximum 2 days, and then would start crashing again upon connecting to the car. This last time I tried to uninstall/reinstall, it didn't work, and still loads/crashes repeatedly
ALSO: Separate problem (last 2 weeks):
Google Maps started just showing a black screen two weeks ago, no matter what DPI setting, etc. I have had to switch to Here WeGo for driving directions.
Anyone else having these problems? I am losing my mind because I've had to reinstall Android Auto every time I need to drive somewhere, and now even that doesn't work.
