When did life become only about grades, internships and survival?
When I was a kid I used to build random things for fun toy cars using dc motors small train models, disco lights, little experiments etc I would spend hours doing it and felt genuinely excited. No fear just curiosity. Now I’m in college and everything feels different.
It feels like life has become this endless cycle of studying, internships, placements, comparing yourself to friends, and social media constantly showing people “doing better.
Even friendships feel different now. Earlier it felt real, now sometimes it feels like everyone is just focused on surviving their own future. I often get depressed thinking about the future.
I also feel like being good at studies doesn’t feel that special anymore. There are thousands of people who can study hard and score well. It feels like society treats it as the main thing to be proud of, but sometimes I feel real skills are building things, creating things, making something unique.
I miss that version of myself that used to build things because I loved it. Now I excite about creating content for YouTube but never made a full video I have many good scripts written in my notepad but never worked on it cause of time.
I think its just a time waste I should have focus on study instead ( I often think about my competitors in coding) whenever I thought of doing something unique
Sometimes I wonder if social media changed my brain or if growing up naturally makes people lose that curiosity.
Has anyone felt this?
